NOTE TO AUTHORS
 
Thank you for deciding to write for SEM above Conference.  Congratulations for being part of a project aimed at sensitizing the world generally and Christians in particular to God’s plan for the sustainability of our environment.
 
Please note the following general guides for preparing your paper.
  • The Bible should be the major source, supplemented by latest texts/materials already published, including the internet.
  • Already Published Sacred Earth Ministry (SEM) Monographs which could assist you are available in several libraries particularly NBTS, Ogbomoso Library as well as SEM offices.
  • Your Paper should be well structured, featuring among others:
  • Abstract
  • Key words/terms
  • Introduction
  • Body
  • Conclusion
  • References
  • The only limitations on length are irrelevance, verbosity and/or unnecessary repetition. However, keep within 10-15 quarto size pages, double spacing font 12
  • References should follow the International (APA) practice, namely;
  • Name, date and page (if necessary) of source in text; e.g. Faniran (2004) or (Faniran, 2001:4)
Where there is more than one reference by same source/author, arrange in chronological order
  • List all references (with complete information) at the end of the paper, in alphabetical order, e.g.
Adetoye, F. (2001). Man as God’s Image: Proc. 1st Sacred Earth Workshop. Sacred Earth Ministry Monograph Series 1, Man and Nature Study/Action Centre, Ibadan, 34 pp.

NOTES FOR AUTHORS

JCEC is a refereed journal for scholars who wish to report results of original completed or on-going research, reviews of the literature and discussions on creation and environmental issues, stewardship of the environment and sustainable development. Articles (preferably in MSWord for Windows) may be submitted by email and/ or by post (3 copies plus diskette or cd, double-spaced, font 12) to any one of the addresses below
Submitted Manuscripts should contain:
  • A short but informative title
  • Author(s)’ name(s) and affiliation(s)
  • An abstract of about 250 words
  • The main text (12-15 pages), including references and illustrations
  • A list of references in alphabetical order (foot/end notes could be sparingly used)
  • Short biographical sketch of the/each of the author(s)
The title page and biographical data will be removed before the article is sent for review; authors should remove first person references and other clues that may reveal their identities, while referees will remain anonymous except otherwise expressed
Manuscripts submitted for publication in JCEC are considered on the understanding that
  • They are not being offered for publication elsewhere
  • They  have not already been published
  • The publishers of JCEC do not accept responsibility for the accuracy of the data/information presented in the article or any consequences that may arise from their use.
  •  Opinions expressed in the article published by JCEC are solely those of the authors
We encourage gender-neutral international language as much as practicable. Also try to avoid ‘nationalistic’ language such as ‘us’’,’ our’, etc., for your own nation, church, denomination, etc., or groups of them.
When preparing the final version of an article for JCEC, an author should endeavor to conform strictly to the journal’s style requirements, including using the following system for listing your references:

All abbreviations and acronyms should be spelt out in full the first time they are used; similarly, illustrations should be inserted after and as close as possible to the place of first mention
Page Charges and Entitlement to copy (ies) of the Journal:
 A charge of N5,000.00 (Five Thousand Naira) only, or its closest equivalent in foreign currency, will be made; final letter of acceptance will be issued after payment by the author(s). For reasons of economy of production cost, photographs and similar color illustrations will be reproduced in black and white colour only, or attract additional charge.
The author or lead author of an article is entitled to one copy of IJCEC in which the article appears.
Copyright
Authors are required to obtain permission to reprint illustrations, tables, etc., from copyrighted material prior to publication, and are required to assign copyright to JCEC . However, the authors retain the right to reuse the material in other publications written or edited by them and due to be published at least one year after initial publication in JCEC

Copies of JCEC are available for sale at commensurate rates after publication: however the following rates will apply to subscribers to the journal
Nigeria---Individual, N500.00 per copy; Institution, N750.00
Elsewhere---Individual, $100.00; Institution $150, excluding postal charges
Advertisement Rates:
Advertisers are to provide their final artist’s work for insertion, in black-and-white, at the following rates:
  • Full page: N10,000.00
  • Half page: N5,000.00
  • Quarter page: N2,500.00
